The italian job

Lee Jeffries, nicknamed LJ - a well-known member of WeightWeenies and Fairwheelbikes - recently added another masterpiece to his exquisite bike collection. Most of his bikes are italian brands, (well, actually all of them!) equipped with some of the finest parts available. His very first bike was a black Pinarello Dogma. Now that’s what I call a sweet bike to start with:

…followed by a Fassa Bortolo Dog:

…then his first Paris Carbon arrived:

Followed by a second one:

And a third one in WW-style, to complete a nice collection of Pinarellos.

In the meantime he started building up a Pinarello Montello, which unfortunately has never been finished.

The base for his latest build is a Colnago Extreme-Power frameset. After having chosen Campagnolo for all of his bikes so far, Lee wanted to try something new and decided to purchase a complete Shimano DuraAce group for the ‘Nago. As this bike will be a pure training-rig, a Dura-Ace SRM powermeter was the way to go. Deda Shallow bars, AX-Lightness Daedalus, Fizi:k’s new K1 saddle and Lightweight Obermeyer Gen II wheels round up the package. Low weight wasn’t the main goal, but still the scale shows a mere 6.5 Kg (remember, there’s a SRM installed on this bike).

One of the most amazing parts is the custom top-cap for “il falco†(Concerning his ability to fly down the descents like a mad man).

No compromises
Functionality, reliability and beauty – three words applying to this bike. For example, Lee switched from Schmolke (140 grams) to Deda bars (250grams), because he prefers the round and shallow shape Deda offers.
